Usage:

Removal

1. Remove bolts (3) and (7) securing the inlet tube flange and outlet tube flange to oil pump (2).

2. Remove bolt (4) securing outlet tube (6) to the oil manifold.

3. Remove inlet tube (5) and outlet tube (6) from magnetic strainer and oil manifold.

4. Remove bolts (1) securing oil pump (2) to the oil manifold and remove the pump.

PREPARING TO REMOVE OIL PUMP
1-Pump retaining bolts (four). 2-Oil pump. 3-Inlet tube flange bolts (four). 4-Outlet tube retaining bolt (one). 5-Oil pump inlet tube. 6-Oil pump outlet tube. 7-Outlet tube flange bolts (four).

Oil Pump Installation

1. Inspect the gasket between oil pump (2) and the oil manifold and replace if necessary.

2. Install bolts (1) and secure oil pump (2) to the oil manifold.

3. Replace tubes (5) and (6), being careful not to damage the O-ring seals, and install bolts (3) and (7) securing the flanges to the rear of the pump.

4. Replace bolt (4) securing outlet tube (6) to the oil manifold.

Marine Gear Counterclockwise Rotation

NOTICE

When it is desired to change a marine gear from a clockwise rotation to a counterclockwise rotation (as viewed from the front of the engine) the pump rotation will be reversed. The inlet and outlet oil tube connections to the oil pump must be interchanged.

CHANGING OIL LINES FOR COUNTERCLOCKWISE ROTATION
1-Retaining bolt. 2-Inlet tube flange bolts (four). 3-Outlet tube flange bolts (four).

1. Remove bolts (2) and (3) and remove the tube retaining flanges and remove bolt (1).

2. Rotate the tubes so they align with the other holes (the top tube to align with the bottom hole and the bottom tube to align with the top hole).

3. Install and tighten bolts (1), (2) and (3).

Oil Pump Disassembly

OIL PUMP
1-Cover assembly. 2-Wear plate. 3-Pump body. 4-Lock rings (four). 5-Driving gear. 6-Key. 7-Driving shaft. 8-Wear plate. 9-Cover assembly. 10-Bearings. 11-Oil relief grooves. 12-Dowels. 13-Driven gear. 14-Driven shaft.

1. Remove the four retaining bolts.

2. Separate the pump evenly to prevent damaging components.

3. Inspect the bearings (10) in the front cover (9) and the bearings in rear cover (1) and replace if worn or damaged.

NOTE: The gears (5) and (13) are a slip fit on the shafts (7) and (14).

4. Remove the lock rings (4) (two on each shaft) and remove gears (5) and (13) from shafts (7) and (14).

Oil Pump Assembly

NOTE: Lubricate all parts before assembly to insure initial pump lubrication.

1. Replace gears (5) and (13) on shafts (7) and (14). Be sure that key (6) is aligned with the keyway in gear (5).

2. Replace lock rings (4), two on each shaft.

3. Place assembled shafts in body (3).

4. Install wear plates (2) and (8) on the dowels projecting from the body. Be sure oil relief grooves are toward the gears.
