Clutch Drive Spider And Oil Pump Drive Shaft

Usage:

Disassembly

1. Remove the oil pump drive shaft and cover (1) by removing the bolts and retainer (2). Make certain the piston ring-type seals, on the oil pump drive end of shaft (1), have been removed before the shaft is pulled through the spider.

NOTE: The cover and pump drive are pinned to the oil pump drive shaft.

2. Use 8B7551 Bearing Pulling Attachment, 8B7548 Push Puller, 8B7550 Legs, 8B7560 Step Plate and 8H684 Wrench to pull the top bearing assembly (5) from the clutch spider.

3. Remove spacer (6) located between the two bearings.

4. Using the same pulling tools as on bearing (5), remove bearing (7) from the clutch drive spider.

Clutch Drive Spider and Oil Pump Drive Shaft Assembly

Heat bearing assemblies (5 and 7) in oil, temperature not to exceed 240° F (115° C), to facilitate bearing installation.

Place the bearing retainer in position on the spider and install bearing assembly (7) and spacer (6). Install bearing assembly (5) with the seal lip facing away from the spider.

Make certain O-ring seals (3) are not damaged and install oil pump drive shaft (1), cover and retainer (2).
