When reporting the repair, use "PI32196" as the Part Number and "7751" as the Group Number, "56" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and "T" as the SIMS Description code. Exception: If the repair is done after failure, use "PI32196" as the Part Number, "7751" as the Group Number, "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code, and "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.

Current retrofit Selective Catalytic Reduction Systems do not carry a Caterpillar Product Identification Plate. These units need to have the appropriate identification plate installed. The Service Information Management System (SIMS) has been updated with new serial numbers. Future service information will be tied to the new serial numbers.

Legacy (CleanAIR Systems) SCR/EPODS with Factory Reference Numbers 760001 through 760323.

Parts:
Contact the emissions retrofit Field Service Engineer for the Serial Number ID Plate. If necessary, call the emissions product support hotline, 1-877-228-0909, for contact information for the Field Service Engineer for your dealer.

Prior to Installation:
Inspect the SCR in order to validate the factory reference tag. Image 1 shows common locations of reference tags on Current Retrofit Selective Catalytic Reduction System. Once the existing reference tag is found on the SCR, confirm that the number of the existing reference tag matches the reference number on the new serial number identification plate. Refer to attached Rework Procedure after the factory reference number is validated.

Rework Procedure

Attach the serial number identification plate to the dosing cabinet that controls that SCR. The serial number identification plate is to be attached to the cabinet door using four 6C-3677 Pop Rivets at the lower right hand corner of the door. Refer to Image 1.1.1, and Image 1.1.2.

Measure 38 mm / 1.5 inches from bottom edge, and 38 mm / 1.5 inches from right hand outer edge of door frame. Mark the holes to be drilled, and drill using 5/32 drill bit. Pop rivet the serial number identification plate to the door.
