Emissions label check and removal process. Recommended tools: Heat Gun and Blunt Scraper 1. Confirm the engine serial number and the label received have the same serial number. If not contact the reman help line. 2. Check the engine for the locations of the emissions labels. Locations are found above. 3. Using a heat gun gently heat the entire label by holding the gun 3-4 inches (7 to 10 cm) away from the label. The label should not get so hot that you cannot touch it. 4. Using a blunt scraper lift a corner of the label. 5. The label should be pliable once heat has been applied so gently remove the rest of the label - be sure to do this quickly as the label will get cold again making it more difficult to remove. Note: the label won't always come off in one piece but if it is proving particularly difficult to remove use more heat to warm it up. 6. One the emissions label has been removed, check the area for any excess glue or dirt. Please clean the area with the supplied wipes. 7. Fit the replacement label in the same area. 8. Repeat the above actions for both labels. |
