The 1627512/">162-7512 Combustion Sensors with a date code of PR07 and PT07 that are used in G3600 High Compression Generator Set Engines with the Engine Supervisory System (ESS) control system could fail. These sensors could have been assembled without the sillment installed at the steel/ceramic interface. This will allow the sensor to fail and the center electrode to be pushed up into the cylinder head cavity area where it can damage the 1364605/">136-4605 extender and/or the 1884926/">188-4926 connector. In rare instances the center electrode can fall into the cylinder and cause damage to the turbocharger. |

In order to allow equitable parts availability to all participating dealers, please limit your initial parts order to not exceed 1% of dealership population. This is an initial order recommendation only, and the ultimate responsibility for ordering the total number of parts needed to satisfy the program lies with the dealer. |
Remove the 1884926/">188-4926 Connector, 1364605/">136-4605 Extender, and the 1627512/">162-7512 Sensor.
Clean out any debris from the cylinder head cavity and replace the damaged parts with new as needed. Tighten the sensor to 38 +/- 2 Nm (28 +/- 2 lb ft). Tighten the connector to 35 +/- 2 Nm (26 +/- 2 lb ft).
If all or part of the center electrode is missing inspect the turbocharger nozzle ring and turbine wheel for damage and repair if needed. |
