PROBLEM
There is a potential issue with an optocoupler chip that is used on multiple printed circuit boards within certain UPS 300, UPS 301, UPS 600, UPS 900, and UPS 1200 Uninterruptible Power Supplies. There is a potential for accelerated degradation and consequential premature failure of the optocoupler chip. |

ACTION REQUIRED
Circuit boards that have the suspect optocouplers are to be replaced after failure. This service letter applies to printed circuit boards showing the part number and the optocoupler chip with the date code be 0834 through 0911. For instruction on the removal and installation of the different circuit boards, refer to the Systems Operation manual. |

PARTS DISPOSITION
Hold all printed circuit board assemblies for a Parts Return Request (PRR). A Parts Return Request (PRR) will be issued to you through the Send-It-Back process after the claim is submitted. Make sure to list the service letter program number on the packing slip and include the closed work order paperwork. Handle the parts in accordance with your Warranty Bulletin on warranty parts handling. |
