The front axle oil cooler motor shaft seal may leak on the machines listed above. The failure is due to the outlet from the front axle motor supplying excess pressure to the inlet of center axle motor, when both the front and center axle motors are configured in series.

Solution

Caterpillar is aware of this problem, and is recommending the following interim solution. In case of leak in the shaft seal, replace the existing 468-7454 Axle Oil Cooler Pump and Motor Gp with the same new part.
