Introduction
This Special Instruction provides installation procedure for Tire Pressure Monitoring Kit

Personal injury can result from improper handling of chemicals. Make sure you use all the necessary protective equipment required to do the job. Before servicing/performing maintenance on the machine, electrical power must be physically disconnected; battery plugs must be disconnected from the batteries, or the trailing cable must be unplugged, and warning tags and padlocks shall be applied by a certified electrician. Certified electricians shall perform or direct any electrical work, including any energized testing, repair work in controllers, motors, or other approved compartments, and shall insure that all compartments are properly closed and inspected prior to re-energization. All applicable lock out and tag out procedures must be followed. |
Do not operate the machine if any guards or covers are missing or inadequately secured. Personnel could be seriously injured or machine damage may occur. |

Installation Procedure for Tire Pressure Monitoring Kit 560-2916
Follow the below set of instructions for installing the Tire Monitoring Kit
- Attach Monitor (2) to Bracket As. (6) using two Bolts (9), two Washers (8).

(7)6V-8214 Bolt - Remove existing bolts and washers, retain washers and discard bolts. Install Bracket As (6) to back of cab using two Bolts (7) and two existing washers.

Note: Record the unique six-digit identification code for each tire sensor which is needed for configuration.

Software Configuration
Note: To configure the software, a factory password is required. An internet connection is required, or the ability to call into the factory password help desk.
- Connect Cat ET and select Transmission ECM. Navigate to ECM Configuration.
- Set Tire Monitoring System Installation Status to "Installed".
- Enter in the unique six-digit identification code for each tire.
- Enter in the required front and rear tire cold inflation pressure. Obtain proper tire inflation pressures from your tire supplier.
- Turn the ignition to the OFF position. Power cycle the battery.

Illustration 5 g06295120 - Turn the ignition to the ON position. On the monitor, navigate to Machine > Parameters > TPMS. Verify that the pressures are displayed on the screen. Refer to Illustration 5.
Note: It may take up to 5 minutes to read the tire pressures properly.
