Introduction

The problem that is identified below does not have a known permanent solution. Until a permanent solution is known, use the solution that is identified below.

Problem

The seat belt can double over and catch inside the retractor. This issue is sometimes seen as a failure and the seat belts are replaced.

By following the procedures documented in a Caterpillar Channel 1 video, the seat belt can be pulled out and corrected.

Not installing the seat belt at the proper mounting angle can contribute to seat belt retracting issues. Refer to Illustration 2 for correct seat belt mounting angle.
