Reports have been received that the 173-7439 Shaft As may spall on the machines listed above.

Solution

Resolution Detail Section: 173-7439 Failed Shaft Salvage/Rework

Report the failure through the CPI feedback tool in Service Information Management System (SIMSi) referencing CPI number 330706 to have a "Send-It-Back" (SIB) request generated. A SIB request will be issued to your dealer code in the SIB system after the (SIMSi) entry is created.

Submit the failed component along with any other available information to (SIMSi).

Note: Include the transmission and machine serial numbers along with the part hours.

Attach the photos of the bearing journals and ring seal grooves to the service request.

If the shaft is accepted for return and a SIB is created, package the shaft in a manner that the bearing journals and ring seal grooves do not get damaged in the transit.
