Catalyst (SCR) - Remove and Install

Usage:

Removal Procedure

------ WARNING! ------

Hot engine components can cause injury from burns. Before performing maintenance on the engine, allow the engine and the components to cool.


------ WARNING! ------

Wear goggles, gloves, protective clothing, and a National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) approved P95 or N95 half-face respirator when handling a used Diesel Particulate Filter or Catalytic Converter Muffler. Failure to do so could result in personal injury.

  1. Attach a suitable lifting device to outlet assembly (1). The weight of the cover assembly is approximately 127 kg (280 lb).

  2. Remove bolts (2) and plates (3).

  3. Remove outlet assembly (1) and the outlet gasket.

  4. Remove bolts (5) and bolts (6). Remove insulation (4).

  5. Remove the remaining insulation.

  6. Remove bolts (8) and plates (9). Attach a suitable lifting device to catalyst (SCR) (7). The weight of catalyst (SCR) (7) is approximately 359 kg (795 lb). Remove catalyst (7).

    Note: Remove and discard all gaskets and retaining hardware. These parts are one time use only.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install catalyst (SCR) (7) in the reverse order of removal.
