Usage:

Note: Not all equipment has a configuration file created. If a configuration file is needed, there is a document in dealer.cat.com/PL in the "Service Technicians Toolbox" that matches up which configuration files have been created for that equipment. If a configuration file is needed for a specific installation, make the request for the new configuration file through the DSN process.

Configuration files are specified to the piece of equipment that the PLE641 or the PLE631 system is installed on. Configuration files are available for product built with the PLE641 or the PLE631 system in the SIS web "Service Software Files" section. Configuration files can be used for several reasons depending on the installation of the equipment. Listed below are the uses for configuration files based on subscription.

Configurations are required for using the PLE601 Network Manager as a Modbus interface. Configurations are required for receiving "Engine Status Parameters", and "Snapshots" in the user interface. Configurations may be used to modify the behavior of the Product Link device regarding "Sync Clock" on some machines.

Note: If the data link health appears to be affected with the addition of the Product Link device, try removing the configuration file from the Network Manager. Refer to Systems Operation Troubleshooting Testing and Adjusting, UENR5823, "Configuration File - Uninstall" for further details and contact the DSN.

Web Configuration Home Page

The "Web Configuration" home page is accessed by attaching the 425-6889 Cable As to the PLE601 harness, and a laptop. Once a connection is made, the user can use the following Steps to access the "Web Configuration" home page.
