Introduction

The problem described within this document does not have a known permanent solution. Until a permanent solution is known, use the solution that is identified below.

Problem

Wear can be noticed on the steering cylinder head and the edges of the buffer seal groove after 14,000 hours of the machine operation.

Solution

Prior to the repair, document by taking pictures showing the condition of the parts. Provide pictures along with Technical Information Bulletin (TIB) Media Number, M0086760, CPI # 381572, and Machine S/N to your Dealer Technical Communicator (TC). Request the Dealer TC to submit the information through CPI Feedback within the Service Information Management System (SIMSi) along with a request to return the failed parts for analysis. Retain the failed parts for 30 days. If a Parts Return Request (PRR) is not issued to you after 30 days through the Send-It-Back (SIB) process, handle the parts through normal processes.

Use Table 1 to replace with the same part number while the root cause is being investigated.
