New Machine Software for Cat® Product Link Is Now Available on Certain Cat® Products {7490, 7606, 7610, 7620}

New machine software for Cat® Product Link is now available on certain Cat® products. The new software has the following improvements:

  • Improved the asset operation displayed in VisionLink. Asset operation will now show the correct hours of operation for the machine with a PL321 SR.

  • Updated to prevent missing of operating periods for the machine in VisionLink.

The new software part number is listed in Table 1.

Follow the below mentioned procedure for flashing the new software:

  1. Download the flash file (.fl2 file) from Service Information System (SIS) web.

  2. Flash the 239-9954 Electronic Control Module (PL300) with the 532-4250 Machine Software Gp.

    Note: The new software is flashed onto the module using Cat® Electronic Technician (Cat ET). Always use the latest version of Cat ET for the optimal machine software support.

    Note: Refer to the above mentioned reference for appropriate procedures on flashing the new software.

  3. After flashing the new software, adjust the internal Product Link clock to agree with the machine Service Meter Hours (SMH) as indicated on the hour meter.

  4. Once flashing is successful queue an admin message using Cat ET.

    Note: Wait for 1 minute after ignition off before engaging the main disconnect and cutting machine power. This action will allow the system to communicate off the engine to the Product Link module.

    Note: To obtain the full benefits of the improvements and enhancements, both the radio and the gateway software must be flashed. The latest software for the radio can be found in SIS web.
