Lever Calibrations (Lift, Tilt)

Table 1
Error Codes That Can Be Activated When Lever Position Sensor Calibrations Are Performed
Error Code  Probable Cause of Activation  Recommended Actions
10F0 - Calibration Out of Range Low  During calibration, the Implement ECM sensed that the duty cycle of the sensor was lower than the allowable duty cycle limit. An 10F0 error can occur at any of the following three calibration points:
- Full Travel In One Direction
- Center Position
- Full Travel In The Other Direction
· Check that the lever is in the correct position before trying to advance to the next step.

· For full travel positions, ensure that the lever is at the full travel position and not at the detent position.

· For the center position, ensure that the lever is released and no external forces are causing the lever to remain out of center.

· Check that the lever is mounted in the correct orientation.

· Use Cat ® Electronic Technician to verify the duty cycle of each lever position. Refer to the FMI 13 table in Troubleshooting, KENR7579, "Diagnostic Code List" for more information.

· If the duty cycle values are not correct, replace the lever/joystick and perform the calibration again.
10F1 - Calibration Out of Range High  During calibration, the Implement ECM sensed that the duty cycle of the sensor was higher than the allowable duty cycle limit. An 10F1 error can occur at any of the following three calibration points:
- Full Travel In One Direction
- Center Position
- Full Travel In The Other Direction

Linkage Sensor Calibrations (Lift & Tilt)

Table 2
Error Codes That Can Be Activated When Linkage Position Sensor Calibrations Are Performed
Error Code  Probable Cause of Activation  Recommended Actions
10F0 - Calibration Out of Range Low  During calibration, the Implement ECM sensed that the duty cycle of a linkage sensor was lower than the allowable duty cycle limit. An 10F0 error can occur at either of the following two calibration points:
- Maximum Sensor Rotation In One Direction
- Maximum Sensor Rotation In The Other Direction
· Check that the linkage is in the correct position before trying to advance to the next step.

· Check that the rotary sensor in mounted in the correct orientation.

· Check that the mechanical linkage between the sensor and implement linkage is installed correctly.

· Check that there is nothing blocking the lift linkage from reaching full height/full lower or the bucket from reaching full rack/full dump. "Note: Excessively large buckets can cause issues with linkage sensor calibration."

· If the cause is not found, replace the indicated sensor and perform the calibration again.
10F1 - Calibration Out of Range High  During calibration, the Implement ECM sensed that the duty cycle of a linkage sensor was higher than the allowable duty cycle limit. An 10F1 error can occur at either of the following two calibration points:
- Maximum Sensor Rotation In One Direction
- Maximum Sensor Rotation In The Other Direction

Implement Pump Calibration (Center and Right)

Table 3
Error Codes That Can Be Activated When Pump Solenoid Calibrations Are Performed
Error Code  Probable Cause of Activation  Recommended Actions
104C - Hold Pressure Too High  The Implement ECM recorded an average pressure that was too high for this calibration when the pump was commanded to minimum displacement and the tilt valve bypass area was closed off.  · Verify that the correct flash file is downloaded into the Implement ECM.

· Verify that the pressure sensor used in the calibration is reading correctly by comparing the pressure shown in Cat ® ET during the calibration to the pressure on a manual gauge.
104D - Hold Pressure Too Low  The implement ECM was not able to build the minimum pressure required for this calibration when the pump was commanded to minimum displacement and the tilt valve bypass area was closed off.  · Often caused when the hydraulic plumbing / lines are incorrectly routed. Check for swapped hydraulic connections. Also check for hydraulic oil leakage.

· Check that the electrical wiring from the component back to the ECM is correct and that wires/harnesses have not been swapped.
· Verify that the correct flash file is downloaded into the Implement ECM

· Verify that the pressure sensor used in the calibration is reading correctly by comparing the pressure shown in Cat ® ET during the calibration to the pressure on a manual gauge

· Check for excessive leakage through the pump, valve, and cylinder.

· If root cause is not found, replace the rack solenoid indicated in the calibration and run the calibration again. Alternatively, replacing both the rack and dump solenoid may be required to resolve the issue.
104E - Hold Pressure Inconsistent  During calibration, the Implement ECM could not obtain a valid, constant baseline pressure needed to complete the calibration because pump discharge pressure varied too much.  · Measure current to the rack solenoid. The solenoid current should be matching what is shown in Cat ® ET during the calibration.

· If root cause is not found, replace the rack solenoid indicated in the calibration and run the test again. Alternatively, replacing both the rack and dump solenoid may be required to resolve the issue.
10F0 - Calibration Value out of Range Low  While ramping current to the pump solenoid, the Implement ECM detected a change in discharge pressure. This detection occurred when the current was below the minimum allowed calibration current.  · Verify that the correct flash file is downloaded into the Implement ECM.
· Verify that the pressure sensor used in the calibration is reading correctly by comparing the pressure shown in Cat ® ET during the calibration to the pressure on a manual gauge.

· Check for excessive leakage through the pump, valve, and cylinder.
· If root cause is not found, replace the pump solenoid indicated in the calibration and run the calibration again.
10F1 - Calibration Value out of Range High  While ramping current to the pump solenoid, the Implement ECM detected a change in discharge pressure. This detection occurred when the current was above the maximum allowed calibration current. Or, the Implement ECM did not detect a change in pressure before the pump solenoid current reached some maximum value.

Valve Calibrations (Raise, Lower, Dump, Rackback, and Tilt Cylinder Regeneration)

Table 4
Error Codes That Can Be Activated When Valve Solenoid Calibrations Are Performed
Error Code  Probable Cause of Activation  Recommended Actions
104D - Hold Pressure Too Low  The Implement ECM was not able to build the minimum pressure required for this calibration when current was ramped to the implement pump solenoid.  · Often caused when the hydraulic plumbing / lines are incorrectly routed. Check for swapped hydraulic connections. Also check for hydraulic oil leakage.

· Check that the electrical wiring from the component back to the ECM is correct and that wires/harnesses have not been swapped.

103 - Out of Range  The Implement ECM did not see a change in cylinder position while ramping current to the valve solenoid.  · Verify that the correct flash file is downloaded into the Implement ECM.

· Check hydraulic hoses for damage and proper fit-up.

· Check for leaks

· Run drift check.

· Check pilot pressure during calibration

· Check linkage sensor for signs of damage and recalibrate if necessary.
10F0 - Calibration Value out of Range Low  While ramping current to the valve solenoid, the Implement ECM detected a change in cylinder position. This detection occurred when the current was below the minimum allowed calibration current
10F1 - Calibration Value out of Range High  While ramping current to the valve solenoid, the Implement ECM detected a change in cylinder position. This detection occurred when the current was above the allowed calibration current.
