Introduction

Do not perform any procedure in this Special Instruction until you have read the information and you understand the information.

The 2N-2342 Solenoid Valve As is replaced by the 456-4556 Solenoid Valve Gp

Note: To service the replacement the 2N-2342 Solenoid Valve As, a 509-7346 Harness is required to be able to adapt the replacement solenoid.

The 509-7346 Harness has been created to connect to the valve at one end and be connected to the engine harness on the other end. The connector end on 509-7346 Harness mates with the engine harness. The harness requires the 509-7345 Installation Kit to prep the engine harness to accept the connector on the 509-7346 Harness.

Installation Procedure

  1. Locate the connector to be replaced.

  2. Using wedge removal tool, remove wedge from the connector.

  3. Using a red wire removal tool, gently remove the wires from the connector.

  4. Snip off the terminals from the wires at the base of the terminals.

  5. With a wire stripping tool, strip away 7 mm (0.27 inch) of insulation.

  6. On the crimp tool set the selector wheel to the appropriate wire gage.

  7. Insert socket terminal into the barrel of the crimp tool, be sure that the gold top last into the barrel.

  8. Squeeze the tool handle completely until handle opens.

  9. Repeat steps 7 - 10 for the second wire.

  10. Insert terminated wires into connector and insert wedge.

  11. Connect jumper to engine harness.
