The Page Indicator (13) displays what page of the list is currently being viewed as well as the total number of pages in the ECL. For example, “2/84” indicates that the screen is on page 2 out of a total of 84 pages. Pressing the FORWARD DOUBLE ARROW button (14) or the REVERSE DOUBLE ARROW button (12) will allow the user to scroll through the pages. To view the details of an Event, press on the specific Event itself. The Event will highlight in yellow.

    Note: The Page Indicator (12) displays what page of the list is currently being viewed as well as the total number of pages in the ECL. For example, "2/84" indicates that the screen is on page 2 out of a total of 84 pages. Pressing the FORWARD DOUBLE ARROW button (13) or the REVERSE DOUBLE ARROW button (11) will allow the user to scroll through the pages.   2. In the Time box (16), a number displays the recording time in minutes and seconds.

  3. Push the Data Entry button (17) to Start Recording. The arrow button will first highlight in blue, and then turn green in color. The button turn green, will advance to the right and begin recording.

  4. To Stop Recording, push the Data Entry button again. The arrow button will highlight in blue and recording will stop. The button will turn gray and return to its original position.

  5. To reset the Data Logger, press the RESET button (18) located on the right side of the menu page.

  6. Press the BACK Button (7) to return to the main menu.

  7. Press the HOME button (8) to return to the home page.

Conditional Logging

Manual Snapshot

Service > Diagnostics > Manual Snapshot

The Manual Snapshot feature enables a machine operator or technician to capture machine operating conditions and parameters around the time of a notable machine event. The snapshot can be used for troubleshooting the event.

  1. Press the Manual Snapshot button (21). The button will highlight in blue, then yellow. The Manual Snapshot page will appear.

    Note: If the Manual Snapshot menu button is not visible, scroll through the menu button group list by using the UP Arrow button (7) or the DOWN Arrow button (8) to scroll through the menu page. The Menu Sliding Indicator of the Non-Interactive Scroll bar (4) will move accordingly with the page.

    Note: Before recording, note the number in the Memory Location Increment/Decrement bar (22) and the recording status on the Manual Snapshot page.

    If the Recording Status Button has a solid red button (23A), the recording status is OFF or READY. The location is ready to receive a recorded event. Begin recording.

  2. Press the red Recording Status Button (23). The Recording Status Button will turn green and advance to the right (23B). Recording will begin.

  3. Press the Recording Status Button again to stop recording. The button will return to the left and turn gray (23A). The recorded event will be stored in a selected numbered Memory Location.

    Note: Recording will not occur if the Memory Location is full and the Recording Status Button has a "Full" red (with a diagonal line) symbol (23C). A Pop-Up Message Box (24) will also appear indicating that the snapshot memory is full. In this case, recording is still possible if another Memory Location is available.

  4. To find another Memory Location in which to record, press either end of the Memory Location Increment/Decrement Bar (22) until the solid red Recording Status button (23A) appears.

  5. Press the BACK Button (7) to return to the main menu.

  6. Press the HOME button (8) to return to the home page.

Event Snapshot

Service > Diagnostics > Event Snapshot

The Event Snapshot feature allows the operator to capture the machine operating conditions when a particular machine event occurs. The operator can select the event as a snapshot trigger. The operator may also clear the configurable trigger.

    Note: If there are several descriptions on the Event Snapshot page, use the UP Arrow button (3) or the DOWN Arrow button (6) to scroll through the list. Pressing the DOUBLE DOWN Arrow button (26) or the DOUBLE UP Arrow button (27) will navigate to the bottom of the list or the top of the list, respectively.

    • An item is not currently selected for recording if there is no "X" under the Record column (28). Navigate to that item with the UP Arrow button or the DOWN Arrow button. Press the "OK" button (5) to display the "X". The item is now selected for recording.

    • If an item is already selected for recording, that item should be cleared before selecting another item. The new item will then display the "X" and is now selected for recording.

    • If an item is already selected for recording and is cleared, the "X" with vanish.

  3. Press the "OK" button (5) Recording will begin.

    Note: If a code that appears multiple times in the list is selected, the result may show each of the line items with an "X". If a code is already set to record (and has multiple line items, each with an "X"), selecting any one of the items, or selecting a different code, may clear all the "X" line items.

  4. Press the BACK Button (7) to return to the main menu.

  5. Press the HOME button (8) to return to the home page.

Halt Event Messages

Service > Diagnostics > Halt Event Messages

Models 988, 990, and 994 when Cat® Production Measurement is installed and enabled.

The "Halt Event Messages" feature enables the operator to minimize frequent, nuisance pop-up notifications that are not indicative of machine damage. The operator can configure certain events to not generate a pop-up notification.

  2. Press the "TC Pedal" button (50). The "TC Pedal" button will highlight in yellow and the TC Pedal Calibration page will appear.
