The problem that is identified below does not have a known permanent solution. Until a permanent solution is known, use the solution that is identified below.

Problem

When paving at a speed exceeding 6 m (19.7 ft) per minute with tamper speed set in "Auto" mode, the tamper speed reduces to zero making the tamper operation intermittent.

Solution

Caterpillar is aware of this problem, but an interim repair has not been found.

Operators are advised to use "Manual" mode when paving at a speed exceeding 6 m (19.7 ft) per minute.
