Manual Valve - Check

Introduction

Powered Access Stairway Manual Lowering Control: If necessary, the powered stairway can be lowered with the use of manual lowering valve.

Check Preparation

  1. Move the machine to a smooth horizontal location. Move away from any machines that are working and any personnel.

  2. Move the transmission control to the NEUTRAL position.

  3. Activate the parking brakes. Stop the engine.

  4. Permit only one operator on the machine. Either keep other personnel away from the machine, or keep other personnel in the sight of the operator.

  5. Place wheel chocks in front of the wheels and behind the wheels.

Check Procedure

If necessary, the powered stairway can be lowered with the use of the manual lowering valve (6).

The manual lowering valve (6) is located on the powered access stairway facing towards the front of the machine.

  1. Verify that the area around the powered stairway is clear of people and obstacles before manually lowering the powered stairway.

  2. Manually retract the latch to unlock the ladder and allow it to move.

  3. The manual lowering valve (6) can be accesses from outside the Platform under the guard on the machine right-hand side where the sight glass for the fill is located.

    Open the manual lowering valve (6) in order to manually lower the powered stairway.

    Note: When the manual lowering valve (6) is used to move the powered stairway, the powered stairway will move from the fully raised position to the fully lowered position in approximately 3 seconds.

  4. Close the manual lowering valve (6).

    Note: Do not operate the powered stairway while the manual lowering valve is open.
