New Hose Assemblies for the Tilt Cylinders Are Used on Certain 980M Medium Wheel Loaders {5057, 5104} Caterpillar

980M (S/N: KRS1-UP; N8T1-UP)

Description Of Change: Improved hose assemblies are used on the tilt cylinders of the 980M Medium Wheel Loader. The new hose assemblies are slightly longer than the former hose assemblies. Longer hoses will prevent the hoses from being stretched on certain machines when the linkage is placed at full raise and full bucket rack.

Adaptable To: If one of the former hose assemblies is being replaced by one of the new hose assemblies, all four hose assemblies should be replaced. Replacing all four hose assemblies is required in order to prevent contact between the hoses. The required parts for the new hose assemblies are listed in the Caterpillar Hydraulic Information System (HIS).

The new hose assemblies are effective in production with the following machines:

• 980M (S/N: KRS1102-UP; N8T551-UP)

The new hose assemblies are adaptable to the following machines:

• 980M (S/N: KRS1-1101; N8T1-550)
