Introduction

New software is available for certain compact wheel models. The software requires that both primary and secondary processor software is updated.

The flashing of the secondary software is achieved via the installation of a jumper harness to allow the CAN BUS to be connected to the secondary processor via pins on ECM J1 plug.

The flashing of the primary software is achieved via the normal process.

New ECM's with part number 438-9506 are released with the latest secondary software installed.

Read the entire Special Instruction. Do not perform any procedures or order any parts until you have read the information and you understand the information contained in this publication.

  21. Connect ET service tool and flash the primary ECM processor as per normal process with new software using WinFlash.

  22. If successful, cycle the key switch on and off.

  23. Clear all logged fault and event codes from the ECM, and download PSR.

Note: After installing both primary and secondary software, recalibrate the below functions for each service letter group:

    • Group 1: Drive motor solenoid, Pump signal solenoid, and Valve calibrations.

    • Group 2: Valve calibrations and Pump signal solenoid.

    • Group 3 and 4: Calibrations not necessary. Do not calibrate.

Note: To calibrate the drive motors, the machine wheels must be off the ground.

  24. Remove ET service tool from machine.

  25. Test machine.

  26. Submit before and after PSR's via DSN.

Note: The new software will make the machine more aggressive than before in certain applications. For machines fitted with the optional 8 button keypad the aggressiveness of the machine can be turned down by changing the modes listed below on the keypad to meet customer expectations. For machines not fitted with the 8 button keypad the below listed modes can be changed via ET to meet customer expectations: See OMM SEBU9222-05 for more information on the adjustable modes as per below
