Improved Airline Routing is now Used on Certain D9T Track-Type Tractors {1071} Caterpillar

D9T (S/N: REX1-UP)

Description Of Change: Improved airlines are now used on Certain D9T Track-Type Tractors. The improved routing will prevent potential fouling and unexpected machine downtime.

Adaptable To: The improved routing is effective with the following machines:

• D9T (S/N: REX435-UP)

• D9T (S/N: REX1-434)

1. Prepare the machine for this update. Refer to the Disassembly and Assembly manuals as needed.

2. Remove existing tube (B) and hump hose (A). The clamps will not be reused.

   Note: Retain the two clamps on the top of the radiator cores and associated hardware for reuse

3. Remove hose (C) and the clamps. The clamps will not be reused.

4. Install new hump hose (1) using two clamps (4) and ataac tube assembly (2). Leave clamps (4) loose.

5. Install elbow (3) using two clamps (5). Leave clamps (5) loose.

6. Reinstall top two clamps (E) and (F). These clamps tend to rotate tube assembly (D) to the rear of the machine. Start with tube assembly (D) rotated slightly forward so clamps (E) and (F) bring tube assembly (D) into position.

7. Check for clearance in area (G) shown in Illustration 5. Adjust clamps (4) and hump hose (1) as needed. Torque clamps (4) and clamps (5) to 7.5 ± 1 N·m (66 ± 9 lb in). Torque top clamps (E) and (F) to 55 ± 10 N·m (40 ± 7 lb ft).
