An Improved Radiator is Now Used for Certain 300.9D, 301.4C, 302.7D CR Mini Hydraulic Excavators {1353, 1380}

Usage:

300.9D LJ2
Mini Hydraulic Excavator
300.9D (S/N: LJ21-UP; LJM1-UP)
301.4C (S/N: LJK1-UP)
302.7D CR (S/N: LJ71-UP; LJL1-UP)

Description Of Change: An improved radiator is now used for certain Mini Hydraulic Excavators. The improved radiator has a more robust neck which reduces coolant leaks due to a bent neck.

Adaptable To: The improved radiators are effective with and adaptable to the serial numbers listed in Table 1.

The part number of the radiator did not change. The improved radiator can be identified by the reference document number. Refer to Table 2.

Refer to the following procedure if coolant leaks from the radiator or expansion tank.

Procedure

  • Check the coolant and engine oil levels.

  • Check the radiator and air filter cleanliness.

  • Check the radiator neck for slight deformation that would cause a poor seal with the radiator cap.

  • Check the fan belt tension and complete all the cooling system checks. Refer to the service manual for your machine.

  • Check the glycol percentage of the coolant and record the machine altitude.

If the radiator neck is bent slightly, the neck can be bent back to the original shape. If the radiator neck is bent and cannot be repaired, then the radiator will have to be replaced. Refer to Table 2.
