System Requirements

To run VIMSpc the following computer hardware, operating system, and software are required.

Computer Hardware:

• IBM^® PC compatible with Pentium IV 2.4 GHz processor or higher

• 2 GB RAM

• 2 GB of available hard disk drive

• 40X speed CD-ROM drive or 8X speed DVD drive

• 15.4 inch XGA Screen (1280x1024 compatible)

• For VIMS^TM 3G system: Ethernet port is required

• For VIMS ABL and 68K systems: RS232 port with 16550AF UART (or compatible) or USB 1.1 or 2.0 port

• Mouse or build-in pointing device

Operating System (support both 32-bit or 64-bit) :

• Windows 8

• Windows 7

• Windows XP (2013A VIMSpc is the last release that will support XP)

Software:

• Browser such as Internet Explorer

• PDF Reader

VIMSpc Software and the Cat^® Production Measurement Application

VIMSpc software has combined the functionality of the Information System Builder and the VIMSpc software into one application.

Note: VIMSpc is a software tool used across a broad range of Cat^® products. Not all features available in VIMSpc are supported on Medium Wheel Loader Applications. This availability means that some fields or options will be unpopulated or will show a null value. The following information pertains to the features which are supported by Medium Wheel Loaders and are related to the Cat Production Measurement feature.

Application Window of VIMSpc

To use VIMSpc, follow these steps:

1. Connect VIMSpc.

2. Click the "Connect" option on the left side menu.

Home Screen

The home screen in the VIMSpc status shows the following information about the machine:

• "Software Part Number" The flash file currently installed in the ECM.

• "Config-File Part Number" The configuration file currently installed in the ECM, if applicable.

• "Hardware Part Number" The part number and revision level of the ECM.

• "Model Code" The machine model.

• "Product ID" The machine serial number.

• "Equipment Number" The name the machine will appear as in VisionLink^®. (VisionLink is a trademark of Trimble Navigation Limited, registered in the United States and in other countries).

• "Date" The current date as reported by the ECM.

• "Time" The current time as reported by the ECM.

• "SMH" Current service meter hours of the machine.

Cat Production Measurement Application

The Cat Production Measurement application screen is accessible through the MWL tab at the top of the VIMSpc Home Screen. The Cat Production Measurement application screen has the following tabs:

• Printer

• Edit/Delete

Note: A key cycle is needed for changes made to the list to be shown in the information display.

Service Dashboard screen

To access the Printer Web Configuration page, choose "Machine Configuration" from the service dashboard. Then select "Printer Web Configuration" to configure the settings.

Printer - The "Printer Web Configuration" screen is where the following printer tickets settings are configured:

General Settings

• "Header Blank Lines:" Adjusts the amount of blank space at the top of a ticket. The default value is 1. The value range is 0 to 25.

• "Trailer Blank Lines:" Adjusts the amount of blank space at the end of a ticket. The default value is 4. The value range is 0 to 25.

• "Date Format" Allows the user to select the preferred date format.

• "Separator Character" Selects the type of character to use as a separator on tickets.

• "Validate Configuration"- Validates the configuration of the printer settings.

• "Cancel Changes"- Allows the user to cancel any changes that were made to the printer settings.

Material Report Settings

• "Reset Time:" Allows the user to enable or disable the reset time function.

Truck Ticket Settings

• "Print Copies:" Sets the number of copies that will be printed. The default number of tickets printed is 1. The value range is 0 to 3.

• "Header Lines 1 through 3:" Allows for customization of the first three lines of a printer ticket. The value range for each line is 0 to 25 characters.

• "Truck Ticket Number:" Allows the user to assign a ticket number for identification.

Truck tickets may contain the following information options:

• Header

• Bucket Weight

• Truck Weight

• Truck ID

• Material ID

• Operator ID

• Time

Truck Report Settings

• "Reset Time:" Allows the user to enable or disable the reset time function.

Note: The time can be adjusted using Cat Electronic Technician.
