Removal Procedure

Start By:

1. Remove terminal box.

2. Remove exciter.

1. Remove bolts (3) and repeat for the other side. Remove upper cover (1) and lower cover (2).

2. Install Tooling (A) onto adapter (5). Use suitable lifting device to position generator assembly (6) with coupling (4) facing up. The weight of generator assembly (6) is approximately 1883 kg (4151 lb). Use suitable cribbing to support generator assembly (6). Take care to ensure that the terminal bus bar does not contact the ground.

3. Remove retaining straps (7) if necessary.

4. Remove two bolts (8). Ensure that these bolts are 180 degrees from each other to ensure that the assembly will lift evenly.

5. Install Tooling (B). Use suitable lifting device to remove rotor assembly (9). Take care to ensure that rotor remains clear of the stator throughout to procedure to avoid damaging either component.

Installation Procedure

1. Install rotor assembly (9) in the reverse order of removal.
