Installation Procedure for the Prelubrication Oil Pump on Certain G3500 Engines{1319}

Usage:

G3516H (S/N: GLM1-UP; GLN1-UP)
G3520H (S/N: GFP1-UP; GFR1-UP)

Introduction

This Special Instruction provides the procedure in order to install the prelubrication oil pump group for the above G3500 Engines.

Rework Procedure

Engines with the 365-5509 Base As and the 373-1502 Base As

  1. Drain the oil from the prelube system into a suitable container for reuse or disposal.

  1. Remove the 348-8398 Prelubrication Oil Pump Gp .

    (C) 139.7 mm (5.5 inch)

    (D) 11.11250 mm (0.4375 inch)

  1. Make a paper template of the 456-4876 Prelubrication Oil Pump Gp bolt pattern.

  1. Use reference hole (A) and mark the other three holes on the rail per the paper template.

  1. Drill three 11.11250 mm (0.4375 inch) diameter holes into the rail.

    (5) 6V-8801 Nut

  1. Attach pump (1) to the rail with four spacers (2), four bolts (3), eight washers (4), and four nuts (5) .

  1. Attach hose (6) to the top port of pump (1) and the oil pan.

  1. Attach hose (7) to the bottom port of pump (1) and the check valve.

Engines with the 423-4765 Engine and Generator Base As

  1. Drain the oil from the prelube system into a suitable container for reuse or disposal.

  1. Remove the 348-8398 Prelubrication Oil Pump Gp .

  1. Attach pump (1) to the rail with four spacers (2), four bolts (8), eight washers (4), and four nuts (5) .

  1. Attach the original hose (9) to the top port of pump (1) .

  1. Attach the original hose (10) to the bottom port of pump (1) .

Engines with the 377-4061 Base As

  1. Drain the oil from the prelube system into a suitable container for reuse or disposal.

  1. Remove the 348-8398 Prelubrication Oil Pump Gp .

  1. Attach the original hose (9) to the top port of pump (1) .

  1. Attach the original hose (10) to the bottom port of pump (1) .

  1. Drain the oil from the prelube system into a suitable container for reuse or disposal.

  1. Remove the 348-8398 Prelubrication Oil Pump Gp .
