New troubleshooting procedure is now available for all Cat® products equipped with PL321 VIMS (PL321 VSR). The new troubleshooting procedure resolves the issue of utilization data (fuel, hours, and payload) may not be displayed in VisionLink or reported sporadically.

    Perform the following troubleshooting procedure:

    1. Verify that the DTR/DSR, and DCD lines are connected properly. Refer to Troubleshooting, RENR7911, "Product Link 121S/300".

    1. Verify that the antenna is not damaged.

    1. Verify that there is no noise interference from devices surrounding the antenna such as beacons, and condenser fans.

    1. Ensure that all software on machine (Product Link, transmission, implement, brake, and chassis) are updated to the latest software version.

    1. Verify that the machine is currently subscribed for Utilization. This can be verified by looking at the "Service Plans" listed at the bottom of the "Dashboard" tab in VisionLink.

    1. If the previous steps do not resolve the issue, have your Technical Communicator (TC) contact DSN to submit a field support case. DSN will determine if the utilization message is making it to the satellites. If utilization data is not making it to the satellites but other messages are such as hours/location, and diagnostic/events, then the PL121 radio should be replaced.

Note: Have a copy of the machine PSR available when contacting DSN.
