Procedure to Improve Reporting into VisionLink after Re-Registration of Product Link Systems PL121/321 {7606}

Usage:

D3400 01T
Caterpillar Products:
  • All
  • ReferenceSpecial Instruction, REHS2365, "Installation Guide for Product Link PL121SR and PL321".

    In the standard re-registration process, assets are first de-registered and then re-registered with either a new device or the same device. Occasionally, the two messages created by these actions get out of order to VisionLink resulting in de-registration of the asset. Check registration status for the asset in the VisionLink Store.

    If the machine is de-registered in the VisionLink Store, then take one of the following actions:

    • Have your Technical Communicator (TC) contact the Dealer Solutions Network (DSN) to register the machine. This may take several days to take effect. Have the machine serial number and Product Link module number available when contacting DSN.

    • Check using Cat ET to ensure that the registration message transmits from the Product Link message queue before leaving the machine.

    Refer to the Special Instruction given in the reference section, for more information on re-registering Product Link PL121/PL321.
