- Lubricate outer diameter of lip seal (20) with Tooling (D). Using Tooling (C), install lip seal (20) into bearing housing (13) seal face down.

- Using Tooling (C) and a suitable press, install outer bearing race and roller assembly (19) into the bearing housing.

Note: The inner race of the lower bearing will be installed onto the shaft separate from the outer race and roller assembly. Only the outer race and roller assembly is to be installed into the bearing housing.
- Raise the temperature of inner lower bearing race (16). Slide inner lower bearing race (16) onto shaft (15) until inner lower bearing race (16) comes to rest against the shoulder of shaft (15) .

- Install bearing (14) onto shaft (15). Install retaining ring (11) .

- Using a suitable press, install shaft and bearing assembly (12) into bearing housing (13) .

- Install retaining ring (10) in the orientation as shown in Illustration 6 to ensure that the oil drain hole is not blocked.

- Using a suitable press, install seal collar (17) against the inner race of the lower bearing. Install O-ring seal (18) .

- Align the marks and install shaft and bearing housing assembly (7) to impeller housing (6) .

- Install a 0.25 mm (0.009 inch) shim between the bearing housing and the impeller housing at each bolt location. Install bolts (5) finger tight until flush with the bearing housing, then tighten to a torque of 24 ± 1 N·m (212 ± 9 lb in).

- Lubricate outer diameter of ceramic seal (29) with Tooling (D). Take care to ensure Tooling (D) does not contact seal faces.

- Using Tooling (E), install ceramic seal (29) over the shaft with the identification marks facing downward.
- Slide seal and spring assembly (28) over the shaft and press into position by hand.

- Align the tab of port plate (25) with notch in impeller housing (6) and install port plate (25).

- Raise the temperature of impeller (24). Install impeller (24) with the three-digit orientation feature facing upward until impeller (24) comes to rest on the shoulder of the shaft.

- Allow the impeller to cool. With the auxiliary water pump assembly positioned upright, check for free rotation of the shaft. If contact occurs between the impeller and the port plate, remove the impeller and the port plate and check for proper installation of both components.

- Align notch in port plate (23) with the drain plug hole in impeller housing (6) and install port plate (23) .

- Install drain plug (26) and the O-ring seal and tighten to a torque of 16.5 ± 1.5 N·m (146 ± 13 lb in).

- Align notch in port plate (22) with the drain plug and install port plate (22) .

- Raise the temperature of impeller (21). Install impeller (21) with the three-digit orientation feature facing upward until impeller (21) comes to rest on the shoulder of the shaft.

- Allow impeller (21) to cool and check for free rotation. If contact occurs, adjust the shims between the bearing housing and the impeller housing.
- Align the tab of port plate (3) with the notch in cover (2) and install port plate (3).

- Position the auxiliary water pump assembly upright. Ensure that the weight of the auxiliary water pump assembly is being supported by the mounting flange. Do not support the auxiliary water pump by the shaft.
- Position cover (2) onto the auxiliary water pump assembly. Place a weight of approximately 2 kg (5 lb) onto the center of cover (2). Measure and record the gap at Locations (X), then remove the weight and cover (2) .
Note: Measurements will be used to select shims for final installation of cover (2) .

- Install the O-ring seal onto tube (27). Lubricate the O-ring seal and install tube (27) into impeller housing (27) .

- Install O-ring seals (4) and lubricate with Tooling (D) .

- Position cover (2) for installation. Using a dead-blow hammer, gently tap cover (2) to install. Position the shims in the locations as recorded in Step 23.

- Install bolts (1). Tighten bolts (1) in the following sequence:
- Tighten the Bolts A, B and C in sequence to a torque of 10 N·m (89 lb in) .
- Tighten the Bolts A, B and C in sequence to a torque of 18 ± 1 N·m (159 ± 9 lb in) .
- Tighten the Bolts A and B in sequence to a torque of 24 ± 1 N·m (212 ± 9 lb in).
- Tighten the Bolt A to a torque of 27 ± 1 N·m (239 ± 9 lb in).
- Tighten the Bolts A, B and C in sequence to a torque of 10 N·m (89 lb in) .

- Install gear (9) and bolt (8). Using Tooling (A) to stabilize the gear, tighten bolt (8) to a torque of 55 ± 7 N·m (41 ± 5 lb ft).

- Using Tooling (F) on bolt (8), measure the rotational torque of the assembly. The rotational torque should be between .4 N·m (3.50 lb in) and 1.5 N·m (13.30 lb in).
End By: Install the auxiliary water pump.
