Engine News SEBD9976, 16 January 2015, "A New Strainer Is Used on the Air Starting Systems of Certain C27, C32, 3512, and 3516C Engines". Disregard the previous article, refer to the article that follows.

Description of Change: A new air starter service kit released and an additional 300 mesh strainer is available as additional protection against dirty air supply

Adaptable To: The new 465-8142 Service Kit is available. The new 465-8142 Service Kit replaces the former 385-1749 Service Kit .

The new 146-5215 Air Lines Strainer Gp or a 300 mesh equivalent is available as addition protection against contamination from the air supply.

The new 465-8142 Service Kit and 146-5215 Air Lines Strainer Gp are adaptable back to first production on the serial numbers listed above.

This change is effective for the serial numbers listed in Table 1.
