Switch (Coolant Level) - Remove and Install - Coolant Level Switch for Sea water Cooled Engines

Usage:

C4.4 NRP

Removal Procedure


NOTICE

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.


  1. The engine can start automatically. Ensure that the power supply is isolated before any service or repairs is performed.

  2. Drain the coolant from the cooling system to a level below the coolant level switch, into a suitable container for storage or for disposal. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant (ELC) - Change" for the correct procedure.

  3. Disconnect harness assembly (3) from coolant level switch (2).

  4. Use a deep socket to remove coolant level switch (2) from expansion tank (1).

  5. Remove O-ring seal (4) (not shown) from coolant level switch (2).

Installation Procedure


NOTICE

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

  1. Ensure that the coolant level switch is free from wear or damage.

  2. Install a new O-ring seal (4) to coolant level switch (2).

  3. Use a deep socket to install coolant level switch (2) to expansion tank (1). Tighten the coolant level switch to a torque of 25 N·m (221 lb in).

  4. Connect harness assembly (3) from coolant level switch (2).

  5. Refill the cooling system to. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant (ELC) - Change" for the correct procedure.
