If a problem with Product Link reception is reported, the mounting bracket where the Product Link antenna is attached to should be inspected.

The area on the bottom of the mounting bracket that contacts the Product Link antenna washer and nut assembly should be unpainted. A repair can be attempted in lieu of replacement of the Product Link antenna or antenna bracket.

    1. Disassemble the mounting hardware on the underside of the mounting bracket.

    1. The area on the bottom of the bracket around the mounting hole opening should be unpainted. If the area around the mounting hole is unpainted, no further repairs are required and proceed to Step 5.

      Paint removal area

    1. To rework a painted Product Link bracket, remove paint from an area no larger than 25 mm (1.0 inch) in diameter around the hole on the bottom of the bracket. Removal of paint in area indicated by circle will allow proper grounding for the antenna. Refer to Illustration 1.

    1. If paint is removed from an area larger than 25 mm (1.0 inch), repaint area larger than 25 mm (1.0 inch).

    1. Reassemble the mounting hardware on the underside of the mounting bracket.
