Description of Change: The plug that holds the oil bypass valve spring backs out on certain machines

Adaptable To: Vibration causes loss of torque, low torque, and lack of thread locker.

Rework Procedure

  1. Insert the plunger as shown Illustration 1 (where spring sits on the nose of the plunger).

  1. Apply Loctite 271 on the middle section of the plug.

  1. Torque the plug to 110 N·m (81 lb ft).

This change is effective with the engines built on or after 1May 2013.
