This Special Instruction describes the procedures for installation of the cab window kit on the above listed machines.

Installation of the Cab Windows

Note: If the Dedicated or Selectable Control Pattern Changer Decals need to be installed also, install the Decals before proceeding with the installation of the Windows. Refer to Special Instruction, REHS8719, "Installing the Dedicated Pattern Control Feature" or Special Instruction, REHS8718, "Installing the Selectable Pattern Control Feature" depending on which Decals were purchased.

  1. Park the machine on a smooth level surface.

  2. Raise the lift arms and lock the arms into the upright position.

    Note: Refer to the Parking and Lift Arm Brace Operation sections from the Operation and Maintenance Manual.

    Note: The windows might arrive to the customer already pre-assembled. If so, disassemble the window into each of the smaller portions described in this set of instructions.

  3. Mount the 345-6292 Frame As (Left-Hand Side) onto the left-hand wall of the machine. The latch on the upper edge of the frame will be facing the interior of the cab.

  4. Align the holes on the Frame with the mounting holes on the left-hand wall of the cab.

    Note: Verify that the sealing material on the Frame is in the correct place and that the seal has not been damaged.

  5. From the outside of the machine, attach nine 270-9442 Screws and 114-6658 Washers onto the left-hand side frame.

    Note: Verify that the seal is tight against the canopy in order to prevent leaks.

  6. From the interior of the cab, place the 345-6273 Window As (Left-Hand) in the middle of the frame.

  7. Slide the window assembly down until the window reaches the bottom edge of the frame.

  8. Verify that the channels on the window assembly are perpendicular to the channels on the frame.

  9. Position the rear most 345-6270 Window As approximately between the two notches of the upper edge of the frame. Insert the upper edge of the window assembly into the upper channel on the outermost side of the frame. Push upward and then insert the lower edge of the window assembly into the lower channel on the outermost side of the frame.

  10. Slide the window assembly towards the rear of the machine until the latch engages.

  11. Position the foremost 345-6271 Window As approximately between the two notches of the upper edge of the frame. Insert the upper edge of the window assembly into the upper channel on the innermost side of the frame. Push upward and then insert the lower edge of the window assembly into the lower channel on the innermost side of the frame.

  12. Slide the window assembly towards the front of the machine until the latch engages.

  13. Repeat the installation procedure for the right-hand side window. Use the corresponding right-hand side window components in the following order:

  14. Raise the cab and lock in the upright position. Install the three 345-6174 Grommets underneath the cab floor.

    Reference: Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual for safety requirements.

  15. Lower the cab to the cabs original position when finished. Lower the lift arms to the original lift arm position before starting the machine.
