Installation Procedure

Installing the Harness on the ARC Machines

  1. Attach bracket (7) to the plate on the lift arm. Secure using two bolts (9). Tighten to a torque of 40 ± 4 N·m (30 ± 3 lb ft).

  2. Route harness (6) inside the left lift arm. Start from the front of the machine feeding harness (6) back through the lift arm.

    Note: 344-6145 Receptacle As does not physically fit through the hole in the bottom of the lift arm. Harness must be fed up through the lift arms.

    (A) Provided receptacle cover.

  3. Insert the receptacle into bracket (7), secure using nut (3) and washer (8). Install provided cover (A) on to the receptacle.

Connecting the Harness

  1. Locate the RL-C19 connector inside the left rear tower. Remove the cap seal from the RL-C19 connector and discard the cap seal.

  2. Connect the TC-1 Connector (B) on harness (6) to the RL-C19 Connector (C). Refer to Table 3 for correct connector configuration.

  3. Secure the ground terminal to the ground stud located in the left rear tower. Use washer (10) or (11) and nut (12) to secure the ground terminal. Tighten the nut to a torque of 30 ± 7 N·m (22 ± 5 lb ft).

Securing the Harness on ARC Machine

  1. Use one strap (1) to secure harness (6), to the weld link on the bottom of the left lift arm. Use one strap (4) to secure harness (6), to the tube at the bottom of the left lift arm.

  2. Use three straps (4) and secure the harness to auxiliary hose (D).

  3. Using one strap (4) secure the harness to the auxiliary hose inside the left rear tower.

    Note: Ensure that there is sufficient slack to allow for free movement at the pivot point.

    Note: Store all excess harness length in the arm. Coil and secure the harness with a strap.

Securing the Harness on Extended Arm Machine

  1. Using one strap (1), secure the harness to the weld link on the lift arm.

  2. Using one strap (4), secure the harness to the tube at the bottom of the lift arm.

  3. Using one strap (4), secure the harness to the hose. Refer to illustration 10 for location.

  4. Using two straps (4), secure the harness to the hose at the pivot point.

  5. Using two straps (4), secure the harness inside the left rear tower.

    Note: Coil and secure any excess harness inside the left rear tower.

Installing the Work Tool Rocker Switch

  1. Release the tabs on the switch cover on the left-hand console. Remove the switch cover.

  2. Remove the plug from the switch cover from the position shown in Illustration 13.

  3. Install switch (5) into the opening in the switch cover. Press switch in until all tabs are fully engaged.

  4. Inside the console, locate the LC-8 connector on the 378-1026 Panel Harness As and connect the connector to the switch installed in Step 3. Refer to Table 4 to confirm the correct connector configuration.

  5. Reinstall the switch cover onto the left-hand console.

Installing the Relays

  1. Locate the fuse panel in the rear of the cab at the right-hand side.

  2. Install the five relays (2) into positions "R1" through "R5" on the upper fuse block.
