Assembly Procedure


NOTICE

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

  1. Install O-ring seal (98), O-ring seals (97), and O-ring seals (96) to control valve (91).

  2. Install rectangular seal (95), O-ring seals (94), and O-ring seals (93) to cover (92).

  3. Connect control valve (91) to manifold (90) and cover (89) to control valve (91). Install bolts (89), the washers, and the nuts. Tighten bolts (89) to a torque of 105 ± 10 N·m (77 ± 7 lb ft).

  4. Install O-ring seal (88) to plug (87). Install plug (87).

  5. Install O-ring seal (86) to plug (85). Install plug (85).

  6. Install orifice plug (82). Tighten orifice plug (82) to a torque of 10 + 4 - 1 N·m (89 + 35 - 9 lb in).

  7. Install O-ring seal (84) to plug (83). Install plug (83).

  8. Install O-ring seal (81) to plug (80). Install plug (80).

  9. Install O-ring seal (79) to plug (78). Install plug (78).

  10. Install O-ring seal (77) to plug (76). Install plug (76).

  11. Install O-ring seal (75) to plug (74). Install plug (74).

  12. Install O-ring seal (73) to plug (72). Install plug (72).

  13. Install valve (71) and spring (70).

  14. Install valve (69), spring (68), hard washer (67), retainer (66), O-ring seal (65), washer (64), and nut (63) to relief valve (56). Tighten nut (63) to a torque of 35 ± 5 N·m (26 ± 4 lb ft).

  15. Install O-ring seal (61) to seat (62). Install seat (62). Tighten seat (62) to a torque of 22 ± 2 N·m (195 ± 18 lb in).

  16. Install backup ring (59) and O-ring seal (60) to relief valve (56).

  17. Install shims (58), O-ring seal (57), relief valve (56), and bolts (55). Tighten bolts (55) to a torque of 60 ± 7 N·m (44 ± 5 lb ft).

  18. Install valve (51) and spring (52). Install O-ring seal (53) to plug (54). Install plug (54). Tighten plug (54) to a torque of 300 ± 40 N·m (220 ± 30 lb ft).

  19. Lubricate O-ring seal (49) with the lubricant that is being sealed.

  20. Install seat (48) and O-ring seal (49) into body assembly (41). Install sleeve bearing (50) into body assembly (41) to a depth of Dimension (X). Dimension (X) is equal to 2.80 ± 0.10 mm (0.110 ± 0.004 inch).

  21. Install O-ring seal (46) onto plug (47). Install plug (47) to valve (44). Tighten plug (47) to a torque of 20 ± 2 N·m (177 ± 18 lb in). Install retaining ring (45) to valve (44).

  22. Install spring (42), stem (43), and valve (44) into body assembly (41).

  23. Install valve (40), spring (39), O-ring seal (38), washer (37), washer (36), retainer (35), washer (34), and nut (33) to check valve (29). Tighten nut (33) to a torque of 50 ± 7 N·m (37 ± 5 lb ft).

  24. Install O-ring seal (30), backup ring (31), and O-ring seal (32) onto check valve (29).

  25. Install check valve (29). Tighten check valve (29) to a torque of 145 ± 15 N·m (107 ± 11 lb ft).

  26. Repeat Steps 19 through 25 for the remaining check valve.

  27. Install valve (21), plate (22), spring (23), washer (24), O-ring seal (25), retainer (26), washer (27), and nut (28). Tighten nut (28) to a torque of 50 ± 7 N·m (37 ± 5 lb ft).

  28. Lubricate O-ring seals (20) with the lubricant that is being sealed.

  29. Install O-ring seals (20) to relief valve (19).

  30. Install relief valve (19). Tighten relief valve (19) to a torque of 65 ± 5 N·m (48 ± 4 lb ft).

  31. Install O-ring seal (17) to plug (18). Install plug (18) to lift stem (16).

  33. Install retainer (15), spring (14), and retainer (13).

  34. Install O-ring seal (12) and O-ring seals (11). Install housing assembly (10).

  35. Install O-ring seal (9) onto plug (8). Install plug (8).

  36. Install O-ring seals (7) onto cartridge assembly (6). Install cartridge assembly (6). Tighten cartridge assembly (6) to a torque of 35 ± 3 N·m (26 ± 2 lb ft).

  37. Install coil assembly (5), washer (4), and nut (3). Tighten nut (3) to a torque of 20 ± 3 N·m (177 ± 27 lb in).

  38. Repeat Steps 33 through 37 for the other side of the valve.

  39. Install O-ring seals (2). Install adapter assembly (1). Repeat this step for the remaining adapter assembly.

End By:

  1. Install the ripper control valve.
