VIMS Service Indicator Lamp Group Fails on Certain Off-Highway Trucks and Wheel Loaders{7431, 7601}

Usage:

994D 3TZ
Off-Highway Truck/Tractor:
785C (S/N: APX1-UP)
785D (S/N: MSY1-UP)
793C (S/N: ATY1-UP)
797B (S/N: JSM1-UP)
Wheel Loader:
992G (S/N: AZX1-UP; ADZ1-UP)
994D (S/N: 3TZ1-UP)
994F (S/N: 4421-UP)

Introduction

The problem identified below has been corrected by reinstating 125-6794 VIMS Service Indicator Lamp Group into production.

Problem

The 208-5021 VIMS Service Indicator Lamp Gp (LED lamp) used on the above machines trigger the VIMS 68K ECM to prompt a diagnostic code: CID 0823 - FMI 05 "Current Below Normal". The diagnostic code gets triggered when the current drawn by the LED lamp is below normal. Hence, the lamp fails to operate and remains in OFF position.

Solution

The 208-5021 VIMS Service Indicator Lamp Gp (LED lamp) is used as a replacement for 125-6794 VIMS Service Indicator Lamp Group (Incandescent lamp).

Since the 208-5021 VIMS Service Indicator Lamp Gp draws lower current causing failure of the lamp to operate, the 125-6794 VIMS Service Indicator Lamp Group is reinstated back to production.
