  • Service Magazine SEPD1504, 01 October 2012, "An Improved Hand Operated Fuel Priming Pump Is Available for the Engines of Certain Machines". Disregard the previous article. Refer to the article that follows.

The improved 162-3906 Fuel Priming Pump As, 137-5541 Fuel Priming Pump Gp and 183-2823 Fuel Priming Pump As have a different shaft and seal materials, along with tighter tolerances on internal components. The new priming pump improves initial fuel priming and helps prevent a loss of engine fuel priming when the machine is not operational.

The new hand operated fuel priming pump is adaptable back to the first production on the products listed above.

The new priming pump assembly can be identified by the manufacturer date code. All pumps with date codes stamped on or after 17September 2012 are the new design. Refer to Illustration 1 and Table 1 in order to identify the date codes.
