New Cat® Product Link software is now available for all Caterpillar products. New Product Link software contains improvements and enhancements for the PL522 and the Medium Wheel Loader Payload Control System.

The new 431-0694 Communication Software Gp replaces the following versions of the PL522 software:

In Cat Electronic Technician (Cat ET Service Tool), the ECM this software is loaded into the "VIMS Main Module". In "WinFlash" this ECM is called "Communication Gateway #1" or "Gateway #1".

    Product Link 522

The following improvements and enhancements for the PL522 are included in the new software:

    • Addressed issue where Engine Off/On status changes are being missed on machines where Product Link is using R-Term to determine engine operation.

    • Addressed issue where fuel and idle time information would not update for time even though machine hours are updating.

    Payload Control System 3.0

The new Product Link software also contains the following improvements and enhancements for Payload Control System 3.0 for Medium Wheel Loaders:

    • E2138 Payload Memory Full event has been changed from a level 2 event to a level 1 event.

    • Resolved an issue with the PCS printer configuration web page when setting the number of tickets to zero.

    • Applied printer ticket line spacing to all printer output. Configuring the number of blank trailing lines to four prevents lines from being cut off.

    • Resolved an issue where the clock sync would not update the machine hours meter.

    • Configuration for printer output units enabled through VIMSpc.

Note: Before using Communications Adapter 3 (CA3), make sure that the PC drivers and CA3 firmware have been updated. CA3 news, drivers, and firmware are available at https://dealer.cat.com.

Note: The new software is flashed onto the Product Link Module using "WinFlash". Always use the latest version of Cat ET for the optimal machine software support.
