Slow return check valve (2) is located between the upper and lower hydraulic manifolds and passes to the hydraulic reservoir. Before returning to the reservoir, the hydraulic fluid is passed through the hydraulic radiator (6). The cooled oil from the hydraulic oil cooler flows through the return line to the return filter in the hydraulic tank. The second check valve (3) channels hydraulic fluid from different sections of the upper and lower hydraulic manifolds. The purpose of slow return check valve is to restrict the return oil flow. The restriction of the hydraulic fluid causes a pressure increase in the return line and the makeup lines of the upper and lower manifolds.
If cavitation occurs in a motor or cylinder, oil from the return line flows into the makeup line. This makeup oil is supplied to the inlet port of the motor or cylinder to prevent cavitation.
