In-line Fuel Strainer on C7.1, C6.6, and C4.4 Engines {1256, 1261}

Usage:

C4.4 448
Industrial Engine:
C7.1 (S/N: 7701-270,272-281,284-294,299-311,315-329,331-331,334-334,336-354,356-369,374-380,384-391,397-407,409-415,419-438,444-444,447-447,453-454,462-462,469-471,480-480,482-482,487-490,492-492)
C4.4 (S/N: 4481-1,269-269,290-291)

There have been a number of isolated instances of issues with 363-4364 Filter Screen .

If the symptoms that are listed occur, inspect the 363-4364 Filter Screen to ensure that it is operating correctly and enabling the flow of fuel.

  • Acceleration Is Poor or Throttle Response Is Poor

  • ARD Pilot Fuel Pressure Is Low

  • Engine Cranks but Does Not Start

  • Engine Misfires, Runs Rough, or Is Unstable

  • Engine Stalls at Low RPM

  • Engine Top Speed Is Not Obtained

  • Fuel Rail Pressure Problem

  • Power Is Intermittently Low or Power Cutout Is Intermittent

If the 363-4364 Filter Screen is not operating correctly, replace with 384-8512 Filter Screen. The increased filter capacity of new screen will prevent further blockages.

For C7.1, C6.6, and C4.4 engines, Caterpillar recommends that the screen should be replaced at a service interval of 500 hours. Refer to the relevant Operation and Maintenance Manual for more information.
