Usage:

CX31 D9F
On-Highway Transmission:
CX31 (S/N: D9F1-UP; D9R1-UP)
On Highway Truck:
CT660 (S/N: TRK1-UP; TKL1-UP; TGT1-UP; TSW1-UP; TSY1-UP)

The new 385-8197 Power Train Software Gp is available for CT660 Vocational Trucks that are equipped with the CX31 automatic transmission. The new transmission software is adaptable to the above serial numbers.

The new software for the transmission is available in SIS Web. Download "3858197.FLS" flash file in order to update the ECM with the latest software.

Software Improvements

A number of changes have also been made that are transparent to the operator.

  • Adjusted the "2 Lockup" to "1 Lockup" retarding shift to better meet customer expectation. The operator will notice a large improvement in the smoothness of this shift over the previous version of software.

  • Engine overspeed shift points have been changed. Non-hydraulic retarder transmission shift point is raised to 2375 rpm. More aggressive shifting results from this change. Hydraulic retarder shift point is lowered to 2150 rpm. When hydraulic retarder is active. Less aggressive shifting will result from this change.

  • Recovery from an ABS event will be more robust at holding the current gear. Operator will observe an increase in engine rpm and return to original gear rather than an up shift as observed with previous software.

  • The shift point for a manual range change from "2 Converter" to "1 Converter" was changed. The operator will notice a faster shift change when commanding this shift sequence. A similar improvement will be noticed with a manual range change from "2 Lockup" to "1 Lockup" when retarding if Cat ET is configured for this shift sequence.

  • The cruise control did not operate as expected by the operator. The transmission would appear to be stuck in gear after a "Cancel" request or "Tap the Brake" event following a "Resume" request. Now the cruise controls responds properly as the operator expects.

  • Product Link "Redundant Memory Address Claim" issue corrected. Seamless change to operator but was the cause of issues with Product Link.

  • Labels for histogram changed. Seamless change to the operator.
