Engine News SEBD9760, 08 February 2012, "A New NOx Reduction System (NRS) Venturi Is Used on Certain C9.3 Industrial Engines". Disregard the previous article. Refer to the article that follows below with updated references.

ReferenceSpecial Instruction, REHS8197, "Updating the NOx Reduction System Delta Pressure Sensor on Certain C9.3 Through C32 Engines".

Description of Change: The new venturi reduces the possibility of the NRS venturi passages or NRS delta P sensor plugging with soot.

Adaptable To: The new 380-8541 Venturi Tube replaces the existing 353-7158 Tube and 343-8977 Tube on the serial numbers listed above. Refer to the Special Instruction listed above for the proper procedure and the required parts to install the new 380-8541 Venturi Tube .

This change is adaptable back to first production on the serial number listed above.

This change is effective for the engine serial numbers listed in Table 1.
