- If the cylinder wear is more than the allowable limit, bore and hone it to the specified dimension.

Note: Replace the pistons and piston rings with oversized pistons.
- Clean the cylinder block surface.

Illustration 4 g02995558 - Place a straightedge on the cylinder block four sides (A), (B), (C), (D, and) two diagonal (E), and (F) as shown in the Illustration. Measure the clearance with a feeler gauge.

Table 3 Cylinder block flatness Allowable limit 0.05 mm (0.002 inch) - If the measurement exceeds the allowable limit, correct the cylinder block with a surface grinder.
Note: Be sure to check the valve recessing after correcting.
