Correct Orientation of the V-Band Clamp on the Center Housing/Turbine Housing Joint Is Needed on Certain C15 Truck Engines {1052, 1053}

Improper orientation of V-band clamp used on the center housing/turbine housing joint can lead to an improper clamping force. Also if the clamp is oriented incorrectly, access to the clamp nut with a socket or box end wrench will be difficult.

To be correctly oriented, the threaded rod of the V-band clamp should be positioned parallel to the turbine housing (A). The threaded rod of the V-band clamp should be positioned approximately 150 ± 5 degrees from the turbine housing inlet flange plane (B).
