With the release of the PL522 and 523, registration/activation is no longer performed using Cat® ET.
The following steps should still be performed in Cat® ET:
- Set the Machine Serial Number by Selecting "Service/Configuration" in Cat® ET. Double-click the machine serial number field under "PLM Installation Parameters".
- Synch the hours by selecting "Service/Synchronize Service Meter Hours" in Cat® ET.
- Verify that the "Cellular Information Status" screen values indicate a functioning system by "Selecting Information/Status" in Cat® ET. Select the Cellular Information item from the list.
The expected values can be found in Systems Operation Troubleshooting Testing and Adjusting, RENR8143, "Product Link - PL522/523" or at the Website, dealer.cat.com/pl , "PL522 Activation Quick Reference"
- Document the device serial number and the machine serial number by selecting "Information/Product Status Report" in Cat® ET to create a Product Status Report.
- Contact your Product Link Administrator at your dealership to initiate service in Trimble Store once the installation is complete.
