(1) Bolt locations

The six bolts that fasten the cover plate to the water pump were not torqued to specification on certain water pumps. Refer to Illustration 1 for the bolt locations.

The 0R-0705 Water Pump Gp and the 0R-8766 Water Pump Gp with date codes from 1April 2010 to 20August 2010 are in the suspect range.

Note: Only the water pump groups with P68HL at the end of the date code are the suspect pumps.

Solution

Typical example

(2) Day

(3) Month

(4) Year

(5) P68HL that is only on affected pumps

Inspect the date codes and retorque the bolts on the water pump groups within the suspect range. Refer to Illustration 2 for a breakdown of the date code.

Torque for the six bolts ... 17.7 ± 3.34 N·m (156.7 ± 29.55 lb in)
