Exhaust Cooler (NRS) - Remove and Install

Usage:

Removal Procedure

  1. Drain the coolant from the cooling system into a suitable container for storage or disposal. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant - Change".

  2. Disconnect tube assembly (4).

  3. Remove clamp assembly (1).

    Note: Clamp assembly (3) is a one time use part. Discard the clamp assembly if the clamp is loosened.

  4. Remove clamp assembly (3) and position the tube assembly out of the way. Discard clamp assembly (3).

  5. Remove bolts (2) and remove the tube assembly.

    Note: Clamp assembly (5) is a one time use part. Discard the clamp assembly if the clamp is loosened.

  6. Remove clamp assembly (5) and discard the clamp assembly.

  7. Remove clamp assembly (6).

  8. Remove bolts (8) and remove tube assembly (7).

  9. Remove 4 bolts (10) and remove exhaust cooler (9). The exhaust cooler weighs approximately 16 kg (35 lb).

  10. Repeat 1 through 9 for the opposite side.

Installation Procedure

    Note: Check the O-ring seals, the gaskets, and the seals for wear or for damage. Replace the components, if necessary

  1. Install exhaust cooler (9) in the reverse order.

    1. Tighten clamp assemblies (5) and (3) to a torque of 7.5 ± 1 N·m (66 ± 9 lb in).

    2. Lubricate the O-ring seals that are found on tube assemblies (7) and (2) with the lubricant that is being sealed.
