  • ReferenceSpecial Instruction, SEBF9180, "Diesel Fuel Cleanliness Analysis by Automatic Particle Counting"

The 293-8413 Contamination Monitor Gp can be used to analyze the cleanliness of engine oil, hydraulic oil, and certain diesel fuels. New usage and cleaning instructions are to be used.

The instructions now specify that the 293-8413 Contamination Monitor Gp is to be used to analyze only fluids with a flash point equal to or higher than 55° C (131 ° F). There is a remote possibility of fluids with a flash point lower than 55° C (131 ° F) catching on fire in the 293-8413 Contamination Monitor Gp .

When you flush or clean the 293-8413 Contamination Monitor Gp, only use a mineral oil or a diesel fuel. The mineral oil and the diesel fuel must have a flash point equal to or higher than 55° C (131 ° F). In Europe, the diesel fuel that meets this specification is called diesel fuel #5. The name for this diesel fuel varies around the world.

Use of cleaning agents that do not comply with the new instructions could damage the contamination monitor group. There is a remote possibility of the 293-8413 Contamination Monitor Gp catching on fire if incorrect fluids are used.
