XQ Auto Paralleling Caterpillar

Advanced Control Jumpers

Usage:

PMG3516 KAD
The information in this section is intended for qualified technicians only. The jumper configuration directly affects various operations of the power module.

NOTICE

Any changes to the configuration must be made by a qualified technician.

Control Jumper Configuration

Disable Utility Multifunctional Relay (UMR) Sync Check

Jumper JA1 to JA2 if the unit is to be paralleled to a utility without the use of the UMR sync check. Install the jumper if no UMR is installed in the unit.

Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) Mode

Remove the jumper from JB1 to JB2. Removal of the jumper will place the unit in "ATS" mode. "ATS" mode will allow the circuit breaker (Ckt Bkr) to close even if the power module is not running. Retain the jumper for reinstallation at a later date.

NOTICE

Only use the ATS mode when connecting the power module to an isolated bus with the use of an automatic transfer switch. Closing the generator to a live bus when the engine is off can motor the generator and cause severe damage.

Disable Remote Run

Remove the jumper from JC1 to JC2 to disable the remote run request. Retain the jumper for installation at a later date.
